What does the PatientPortal mean by a "Service Offer"?

By service offer, we summarize all digital and organizational aids that make it easier for you to manage appointments, patient information, and communication with your practice. This includes online appointment booking, the digital reminder function, and the protected message exchange. Medical services or treatments are expressly not part of these services.

What data is stored during appointment planning?

When booking an appointment, we store your name, your contact details, as well as the time you have chosen and the reason for the visit. This data is used exclusively for appointment organization and is deleted after the statutory retention period. It is not passed on to third parties unless you expressly consent.

Does the appointment reminder count as a binding commitment?

No. The reminder via app or email is a purely service-oriented feature intended to remind you of a booked appointment. It does not replace your own responsibility to attend the appointment. If you are unable to attend, you are responsible for canceling or rescheduling the appointment in a timely manner. The practice reserves the right to charge a fee for repeated unexcused absences.

How is data protection regulated for online consultations?

The video consultation is conducted via an end-to-end encrypted connection. Neither the platform nor third parties have access to the transmitted content. Recording of conversations is technically prevented. Before first use, you must consent to the processing of your data within the framework of the electronic patient record.

Can I revoke my consent to data use at any time?

Yes. You have the right to revoke your consent to the storage and processing of your personal data at any time. An informal message to info@sydneyhipandknee.com is sufficient for this purpose. After revocation, your data will be deleted, provided there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary. Already completed appointment bookings remain unaffected by this.
